Better Together

We can get more done together than we could ever accomplish alone.
— Pastor Elmer Lessa

When you think about missions you probably think about someone that has left behind their “normal” life to be a super human for God’s work. The idea that missions is reserved for somebody else and you can leave it alone is far from true.

Each one of us has a part to play in missions:

1. Raising Awareness

The first way to be involved in missions is by sharing the need with others! If no one shares the need then no one will go! No one will give money to missions or send people out if they are not informed of the need. We need people like you to share the mission of Amazon Vida with those around you.

2. Giving

The financial needs are so great. Our pastors and staff need to have their financial needs met so that they can minister. Our boats need maintenance and fuel and our seminaries need supplies for the students. In this season of COVID we also need your help to purchase, food and medical supplies that are a bigger part of our ministry than ever before.

3. Praying

The most crucial aspect of missions is the prayer and intercession of God’s people that fuels the work that our missionaries do.

Jesus says in Matthew 9:38 “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Paul also asks for prayer from the Church at Ephesus while he is preaching the Gospel in prison in Rome: “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel..” (Ephesians 6:19)

Paul asked for prayer because He knew that it was essential to the work that he was doing. This principle should stand for all of us!

4. Going

Jesus’ final words before he ascended to heaven was a commission to do this! We need people like you to be a part of his mission to make disciples that will eventually lead to transformed communities in the Amazon.

What part are you playing?

Missions involves teamwork that leaves nobody sitting on the bench. As the body of Christ, we all work together for one common purpose, every mission organization, church and individuals like you and I need to remember that we are on the same team.
